System Design Engineer AD/ADAS
Our client is part of the System Design unit, responsible for ensuring a consistent and robust PM ACA system design. Their mission is to create and deliver the complete system design for PC AD by receiving, analyzing, and handshaking incoming PF and PC requirements — both functional and non-functional.
The work spans system architecture, safety analysis, and feature realization, following standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and the internal Safe Driving Policy (SDP). Key responsibilities include producing system documentation such as SRD, TSC, and FMEA, and ensuring harmonized outgoing requirements across PM ACA and interfacing components.
Our client also coordinates system design activities across PM ACA through the System Design HUB, regular sync meetings, and KPI follow-ups.
Your Role
As a System Design Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping the architecture and safety concepts of advanced AD/ADAS systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility, safety compliance, and system consistency.
Your Responsibilities
Review and handshake incoming AD/ADAS feature requirements
Perform safety and system analysis according to ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and SDP
Break down, harmonize, and allocate requirements to system components
Analyze real-world vehicle data using FleetInsight
Create Technical Safety Concepts and perform System FMEA
Collaborate with verification teams on feasibility and validation activities
Drive and follow up on system design implementation
Support product demonstrations when required
Contribute to improving system design concepts, development patterns, and ways of working
Qualifications & Experience
Our client is looking for a technically strong and collaborative engineer who thrives in a fast-paced development environment and is passionate about building safe and reliable autonomous driving systems.
Required Qualifications
Master of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience in automotive product development
Background in AD/ADAS system development
Strong knowledge of Functional Safety and/or SOTIF
Experience with requirements-based system development and technical documentation
Familiarity with requirement management tools such as SystemWeaver
Meritorious Experience
Hands-on experience with System FMEA and safety concept development
Knowledge of complex system architecture principles
Experience working with Safe Driving Policy (SDP) or similar internal safety frameworks
