System Design Engineer – AD/ADAS Features

We are looking for an experienced System Design Engineer for a consulting assignment within AD/ADAS development. You will work with requirements, safety concepts, and system architecture to support the development of safe and reliable autonomous driving features.

Responsibilities

  • Review and clarify incoming functional and non-functional AD/ADAS requirements

  • Perform safety analysis according to ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and relevant safe-driving policies

  • Break down, harmonize, and allocate requirements to system components

  • Use and analyse field and fleet data through tools such as FleetInsight

  • Develop Technical Safety Concepts and system FMEA documentation

  • Collaborate with verification teams and perform feasibility analyses

  • Drive and follow up the implementation of the system design

  • Prepare and perform product demonstrations when requested

  • Produce system design documentation, including SRD, TSC, and FMEA

  • Contribute to improving system-design concepts, patterns, and ways of working

  • Coordinate with different teams to ensure a consistent system design

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent competence

  • Experience in automotive product development

  • Professional experience in AD/ADAS development

  • Knowledge of Functional Safety and/or SOTIF

  • Strong experience in requirements-based system development

  • Experience creating structured technical and system documentation

  • Familiarity with requirements-management tools such as SystemWeaver

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Structured approach to analysis and problem-solving

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with system FMEA and Technical Safety Concepts

  • Knowledge of architecture principles for complex systems

  • Experience with Safe Driving Policy or similar safety frameworks

  • Experience developing and applying AI agents within engineering toolchains

Assignment Information

  • Location: Gothenburg

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid

  • Workload: Full-time, 100%

  • Start date: As soon as possible

  • Duration: Six months initially

  • Contract type: Consulting assignment

A Level 2 background check must be completed and approved before the assignment starts. The check covers employment, references, identity, citizenship, education, trade sanctions, and criminal records.
