System Developer – Traffic Information (Backend)
Introduction
Join a backend-focused product team building mission-critical traffic information systems for public transport. You’ll help modernize core platforms to improve data quality so travelers get accurate information when they need it. The team collaborates closely with app and web teams and is making major moves over the next few years.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for traffic information (planning, real-time, and geographic data).
Drive initiatives such as a more robust disruption API, quality-assured follow-up of completed train traffic, and improved QA of planned traffic changes from operators.
Integrate with public-transport data models/standards and external systems; ensure data quality, reliability, and observability.
Collaborate cross-functionally with app/web teams and operate within DevOps ways of working (CI/CD, GitOps, monitoring).
Contribute to continuous improvement of product, platform, and team practices.
Requirements (Must-have)
Hands-on experience with Docker and Podman.
Production experience with Kubernetes.
Documented experience with traffic information and standards in public transport (NetEx, NOPTIS, SIRI).
Proven experience working in a DevOps team; GitHub for source control.
Strong .NET/C# skills; API development, integrations, and automation.
Solid database knowledge and interest (e.g., SQL Server, MariaDB).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology (or similar).
Proficiency in Swedish.
Nice to Have
Experience with Passenger Information Systems (PIS) and public-transport domain.
Exposure to GitHub Actions/Workflows (CI), ArgoCD/GitOps (CD).
Experience with Serilog, Prometheus & Grafana, ElasticSearch/MongoDB.
Familiarity with RHEL; basic understanding of Angular/React + TypeScript.
