IT Specialist – Linux Server Platform 

Introduction

Join a high-impact team responsible for developing and operating a large-scale Linux server platform that underpins mission-critical services. You’ll balance daily operations with automation, lifecycle management, and continuous improvements to reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations and support for the Linux server platform.

• Provision, patch, and configure Red Hat environments (incl. lifecycle management).

• Manage directory services for Linux environments.

• Handle storage administration (block and NAS).

• Build and maintain automation (e.g., Ansible) to reduce toil and increase consistency.

• Work with server hardware (e.g., Dell) and virtualization (VMware).

• Implement and maintain OS monitoring and alerting; investigate incidents and drive root-cause fixes.

• Script for operations and tooling (Bash/Python).

• Manage certificates and PKI processes (Microsoft PKI/certificate management).

• Participate in an on-call/standby rotation.

Requirements (Must-have)

• Deep hands-on experience with Linux, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux and enterprise deployment/lifecycle tooling.

• Experience with directory services for Linux.

• Solid knowledge of storage concepts (block, NAS).

• Practical experience with automation (Ansible).

• Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python.

• Familiarity with server hardware (e.g., Dell) and VMware.

• Understanding of OS monitoring practices and tools.

• Experience with Microsoft PKI / certificate management.

• Strong communicator who can explain solutions clearly; comfortable working both independently and in teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with journey-planning/transport-information platforms.

• Experience with Opsview or similar OS monitoring solutions.
