Technical Procurement Category Leader EU
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Leader for our client to join their Technical Procurement function in Gothenburg. In this role, you will lead sourcing activities for production equipment and technical materials across Europe, ensuring availability at optimal cost while aligning with global and regional procurement strategies. You will drive supplier performance, sustainability initiatives, and strategic value creation in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Develop and deploy Regional Technical Procurement strategy, including demand analysis, supplier base management, and risk assessment.
Lead complex biddings for production equipment and technical materials within CAPEX and consolidated projects.
Manage strategic supplier performance, including negotiations, compliance, and performance improvements.
Act as procurement counterpart to internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Technical Services, and Manufacturing teams.
Drive value creation from supplier base by leveraging best practices, market innovations, and cost optimization initiatives.
Lead process optimization initiatives to standardize and simplify specifications.
Enhance sustainability and responsible sourcing by engaging with suppliers on human rights, environment, and business integrity.
Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) requirements.
Requirements
University degree in economics, finance, supply chain management, or engineering.
Fluent in both Swedish and English (spoken and written).
Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or engineering.
Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay/Source-to-Pay processes, financial acumen, IP literacy, and legal fundamentals.
Strong project management, leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with CAPEX projects.
Supplier relationship management background.
Familiarity with sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives.
Other Information
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden.
Contract type: Full-time consultancy, 39h/week.
Start date: October 1, 2025.
Duration: Until March 31, 2026, with possibility of prolongation up to 12 months.
Work arrangement: On-site during the first month, thereafter possibility for up to 2 days remote per week.
