Network Automation Engineer / Developer [Try'n'Hire]
We are looking for an experienced Network Automation Engineer / Developer to join a global infrastructure team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automation solutions that improve and support daily network operations in a large enterprise environment.
This is a try-and-hire opportunity. The assignment begins as a consulting engagement and is intended to transition into permanent employment with the client after approximately 6–12 months.
Your Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation solutions
Automate configuration deployment, compliance checks, and data collection
Integrate network devices and platforms using REST, NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gRPC APIs
Develop tools for incident response, troubleshooting, inventory, and validation
Collaborate closely with network engineers and architects
Maintain code repositories, documentation, and reusable automation frameworks
Promote automation best practices and code quality
Required Skills and Experience
Strong enterprise networking background
Experience with Cisco and Juniper environments
Advanced Python development skills
Experience with Ansible, Nornir, Netmiko, and NAPALM
Experience with APIs and structured data formats such as JSON, YAML, and XML
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD concepts
Experience troubleshooting production networks
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role and 10+ years of total professional experience
Nice to Have
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
Network telemetry and observability platforms
IPAM and source-of-truth systems such as NetBox
SD-WAN, SDN, or Apstra experience
Azure or AWS networking
Certifications such as CCNP, DevNet, or JNCIS
